ACH Commerce, LLC was established March of 2000 by founder Deborah Hickok, AAP, President and CEO. Deborah has over 15 years of experience in the ACH industry. Prior to establishing ACH Commerce, Deborah assisted in building, and was a minority partner in an innovative ACH software company that introduced the first Windows based ACH origination product to the market. That company, which was sold in February 2000 by the majority owner, focused primarily on providing software solutions to the banking industry.

Initially, ACH Commerce, LLC offered ACH origination services to corporate clients whose banks did not offer ACH services. This was accomplished by partnering with financial institutions who shared the same vision, that ACH had finally grown into a service that could be a profit center. After establishing these relationships, ACH Commerce, LLC applied to Thompson Financial for an ETI (Electronic Transaction Identifier), developed a strong proprietary ACH processing system, introduced a few web based origination and delivery tools and began processing transactions, delivering them directly to the Federal Reserve through their own Fed terminal.

After two years in business, solidifying the offering to corporate clients (over 1500 currently), ACH Commerce then directed their marketing efforts to financial institutions. The strategy was to allow financial institutions to leverage the technology and experience of ACH Commerce through utilization of an ASP and full outsourcing solution.

In the last quarter of 2003, ACH Commerce "became the ACH department" for a financial institution  (3 billion in assets) that had built a very successful ACH program but felt that for compliance and cost reasons that the program had grown beyond what they felt comfortable managing in-house. Early 2004, ACH Commerce was awarded another total outsourcing account from a bank (4.5 billion in assets) that realized that the cost of software, personnel and expertise required was prohibitive and would require too much time and presentation to deploy. They needed the services right away to be competitive.

Parallel to the outsourcing effort, ACH Commerce pioneered the ARC space during the pilot program and continued to develop a variety of powerful check conversion and remittance processing applications. ACH Commerce most recently rolled out innovative software technology designed to take full advantage of the ARC and Check 21 environments.

Although ACH Commerce, LLC has been successful in developing great technology and also having 5 ACH Accredited Professionals on staff, the real driving factor to their success is their attitude.
